Original example from the 1st half of the 19th century. Silverlayers and sequins, partly gilded. The medallion background and the laurel wreath between the arms of the cross are made of red and green fabric with gilded silver thread embroidery.

The backside with cover made of fine white leather.

Very nice, completely undamaged original breast star in finest embroidery quality.

The Austrian Military - Maria - Theresia - Order is one of the most prestigious military orders in the world and was awarded in all classes only very rarely for extraordinary personal bravery and valour and outstanding merits in  troop leadership.

The Grand Cross was awarded only 61 times during the entire award period from 1757 to 1918.

Only a few examples of embroidered Grand Cross stars have survived.
