The shaft is silver with a sculpted rocaille decoration. The sealing surface bears the crowned cipher ‘ML’ of Duchess Marie Louise of Parma, née Archduchess of Austria and second wife of Emperor Napoleon I.

With silver hallmarks and maker's mark ‘C.M’ on the side.

Beautifully crafted lady's seal and, as a personal memento of Archduchess Marie Louise, of particular historical interest and great rarity.
