Breast star of the Order of St. Hubert hunting from the end of the 18th century.
Embroidered breast star in the form of a green cross of the order with white edges underlaid with crossed hunting guns and hunting horns with the initials "SH" Saint Hubert. The medallion with embroidered hunting horn surrounded by a lettering ring with the order's motto: "FAIT PROTECTEUR QUE NOTRE COUP PORTE AU COUR". Comes with original design drawing of this breast star with modified medallion (with St. Hubert scene), below handwritten inscription "St. Hubert". End of 18th century. Highly interesting decoration of the order, probably related to the Ordre de Saint Hubert de Lorraine et du Barrois. This order, founded in 1423, was granted various privileges by kings Louis XiV, Louis XV and Louis XVI. Almost nothing is known about the decorations of the Order before the French Revolution. During the French Revolution and the Empire, the Order resided in Franklfurt am Main. The Order was renewed during the Bourbon Restoration (1815-1830) and recognized by King Louis XVIII in 1816. At this time he received a white enameled order cross (paw cross) with green enameled medallion and the St. Hubert scene. Possibly this breast star is one of the old decorations before 1789 or an unrealized design of the order decoration. The breast star120 x 115 mm. From the point of view of the order highly interesting ensemble.
