An exceptionally rare and magnificent order chain. According to Beyreiß, only about 100–110 order chains were produced. The majority of these pieces are likely to have been returned to the Order's chancellery before 1918, so that only a very small number have survived.
The piece offered here is one of the very few original examples awarded. It is one of the earliest and finest collars of the Oldenburg House Order in private ownership.
This medal was awarded to an important ruling German prince, whose name will be disclosed to the buyer in confidence.
A magnificent ensemble, known only in very few private collections and museums as original pieces.
From the collection of German high nobility.
