Albanien: Orden vom Goldenen Sporn / Malteser Orden - Ordenskollane

The Order Collar is silver-plated and enamelled. The chain consists of alternating links with the Albanian double-headed eagle and links with a stylised rose blossom. With attached Order Cross in the shape of the Maltese Cross. Above it is a weapon trophy with the Albanian eagle. In the corners of the cross is the Albanian double-headed eagle. The Golden Spur is located on the lower arm of the cross.

In addition, there is a breast decoration in the form of a Maltese cross. The Albanian double-headed eagle is located in the corners of the cross. The Golden Spur is located on the lower arm of the cross.

A highly interesting ensemble of Italian manufacture. Although described in literature as a decoration for Albanian knights of the Order of Malta, I consider it to be an insignia of the Order of the Golden Spur. This order of knighthood, originally conferred in the Papal States, was continued in various ways in other countries, such as Hungary.

It is also possible that this is a combination order of the Order of Malta and the Order of the Golden Spur.

Extremely rare order insignia, the detailed study of which certainly offers scope for interesting insights.
