France (Ancien Régime): Maroquin leather case with the combined coat of arms of King Louis XV and Queen Maria Leszczyńska.

 Presumably a travel case of the French royal couple for storing a precious service or neccessary.

Red morocco leather with splendid gilding. The sides and covers with embossed gilt mouldings with fleur de lys.

The lid with particularly splendid gilding and the gold-stamped combined alliance coat of arms of King Louis XV (1715 - 1774) and Queen Maria Leszczyńska (1703 - 1763). In the corners rocaille-decorated cartouches with fleur de lys (Bourbon lily) surmounted by the French royal crown.

On the sides carrying handles of fire-gilt bronze. Front with bronze clasp or lock.

Interior with fine white linen cover and embroidered lace border.

Signs of wear due to age, but overall in very good condition.

Exceptionally rare royal travel case of finest quality and in very fine condition.
