On the upper part of the scabbard Medusa's head within a scroll and olive branches.
Original brown leather case of issue bearing on the lid the enamel coat of arms of the city of Turino. The case with maker's mark: M. Chignone, Torino.
Very impressive sword in the style of a Roman gladius in fine quality and very nice condition.
