Important early sash badge of the order of Austrian manufacture dating from the 1st half of the 19th century. Gold and enamels.
The Russian double-headed eagles executed on both sides with drooping wings in particularly fine and bulbous workmanship.. The obverse center medallion depicting St. Alexander Nevsky in the very finest enamel painting against landscape background.
Reverse center with hand painted crowned cipher. The luminous red translucent enamel of the arms of the cross with guilloché background. The medallion hoop in quite typical diamond pointed finish similar to the 19th century Vienna made order breast stars. The ring also with diamond pointed center.
Magnificent badge slightly large than the crosses made in Russia of the same period.
