186 Russia: Order of St. Anne, 1st type, ca. 1760.

Order of Saint Anne, 1st Type badge probably dating from the period of Tsar Peter III. (1761/1762) or earlier.

Bronce – gilt and enamels. Arms of cross set with silver mounted red stones. The floral elements in between finely engraved and set with silver mounted red and white crystals. The center with finely painted miniature of Saint Anne. Enamel damage due to age.

One of the earliest examples of this order that has ever appeared at auction. Some almost similar pieces illustrated by Durow.
