53 Ordre de Saint Hubert de Lorraine et du Barrois.

Breast badge, gold and enamel. The centers made of several parts with St. Hubert scene painted in gold, respectively inscription: "ORDO NOB. S. HUBERTI BAR". The gold painting is somewhat rubbed due to wear.

This order was founded in 1416 by Louis I, cardinal and sovereign duke of Bar. The order continued to exist after this duchy had come to France and was confirmed by King Louis XVI in 1786 and endowed with privileges. During the Revolution, the Order had its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. Louis XVIII reconfirmed the Order in 1816, but abolished it in 1824, and the Order became extinct with the death of the remaining knights.

Beautiful late 18th or early 19th century  example of this interesting order in very nice condition.
