 Portrait miniature of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz I of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1815 - 1837). The round miniature signed "Paust pinx." on the right edge.

Extremely finely executed depiction of the Grand Duke with star and sash of the Prussian High Order of the Black Eagle. In a magnificent mother-of-pearl frame on mother-of-pearl base with fine fire-gilded bronze mountings in rocaille form. The magnificent design and lavish presentation identify this miniature as a gift from Grand Duke Friedrich Franz I to a distinguished personality.
