237 Austria: Silver Presentation - Bonbonniere of Emperor Francis I.

Silver. The lid with an inset gold medallion with braided hair of Emperor Franz I and a canopy worked in gold, enamel and mother-of-pearl with the cipher "F I," held by a descending dove. In the foreground a small gold mounted table with lapis lazuli plate and the Austrian Imperial Crown.

Inside the lid and on the bottom silver marks for 18 - solder silver and master's mark.

Beautiful personal gift from the Emperor in finest jeweller's quality. Ca. 1820 - 1830.
