 Gilt hilt, the handle with silver-plated wire wrapping. Double-edged blade. Blued and gilded on both sides in the upper quarter with the inscription: "JE PROTEGE LA LOI & LA NATION". Etched figure of a knight on the reverse side. Ricasso engraved on both sides:

"Dido Marchand Fourbiseur Rue St. Catrine a Bordeaux".

Black leather scabbard with gilt brass mountings on two suspension rings.
