254 Hanover: helmet for Officers from the 1st (Leib) Regiment.

 High leather helmet complete with gilt mountings. The Hanoverian horse applied to the front silver-plated, the ground fire-gilt. Cross blade with smooth top with ventilating mechanism. Long hackle on the back. Convex gilded chin scales. Left cockade in Hanoverian state colours.

Inside complete set of bow nuts ( three bows broken off). Front peak inside with green leather lining. Lased leather lining, black velvet trim all around the upper rim.

Very beautifully preserved rare helmet.
