13 Prussia: Order Pour le Mérite for Science and the Arts.

Large miniature of the Cross of the Order. Gold and enamel, without ribbon. The medallion finely chiselled, the order motto "POUR LE MERITE" in enamel painting. The crowns worked on both sides and applied separately.

Splendid, particularly beautiful miniature of this order for art and science, which is still held in exceptionally high regard today. Probably from the foundation period around 1842.

The insignia of the Order Pour le Mérite for Science and the Arts are extremely rare.

Even rarer are corresponding miniature examples, especially in this fine quality and early design.

An order miniature that can hardly be obtained again.
