Silver. The medallion in gold and enamel. The Sacred Heart decoration separately applied in gold and enamel. The medallion ring in a high domed, white enamelled design and interwoven with a red enamelled bandeau and gold-chased flower garlands. The separately applied cross of the Order of Christ in translucent red enamel with a finely guilloché background. The background of the centre medallion is enamelled white and light blue with gold rays set into the corners of the cross of the Order. On a genuine gold pin.

The insignia of the Portuguese Order of Christ were always of the highest jewellery quality until the end of the monarchy in 1910.
