112 Adolf Hitler - Personal notepad

Green leather, the cover with embossed meander band with stylised swastikas.
Inside with notepad and pencils (one missing).

Although unsigned, this piece is a work by the Frieda Thiersch workshop. Similar objects are documented from both the New Reich Chancellery in Berlin and the Berghof at Obersalzberg.

Frieda Thiersch, an important bookbinder of the Bremen press, received almost all important state commissions during the Third Reich that had to do with the artistic design of leather bindings.

This pattern was used for leather items for Hitler's personal use in the Berghof and in the New Reich Chancellery (cf. contemporary photo of the notepad in the New Reich Chancellery, Berlin).
Further documents can be found in Gerdy Troost's archive.

Extremely rare historical item.
