Cross of the order, gold and enamel. On a beautiful, sewn original sash made of the finest moiré silk. The maker's mark ‘H&S’ for the court jewellers Humbert & Söhne, Berlin, in the eyelet.
The front medallion with the cipher of the order's founder, ‘FR’, is particularly finely chased. The Prussian eagles between the angles of the cross are particularly finely worked and painted black.
Except for very minimal, barely visible hairline cracks in the centre of the back, in absolute top condition.
A magnificent piece of the finest Old Prussian goldsmith work from around 1850.
This piece was owned by a member of the high nobility; the name of the wearer can be provided to the buyer in confidence.
