Black-lacquered leather skull with gilt fittings. Emblem on the front with the Hessian lion and applied star of the Order of St. Ludewig with swords. One blade loosely attached. Medallion with wear-related enamel damage. Cross-shaped guard with ball tip. Two splints missing. Curved yellow metal chinscales with officer's cockades, the Hessian cockade on the left and the Reich cockade on the right. Original light brown silk ribbed lining and light brown leather sweatband.

Beautiful and rare helmet.
