The order's gold and enamel insignia, without sash. The plumage of the Russian double-headed eagle and the separately applied Polish White Eagle finely engraved. The background of the translucent red enamel finely guilloched. On the reverse side, the eyelet and the eagle's claws are gold-stamped ‘56’, the city mark of St. Petersburg and the maker's mark ‘IK’ for Court Jeweller Julius Keibel, before 1882. There are enamel damages in the blue enamel of the crown pendants, otherwise in very good condition.
The breast star is silver-gilt, the medallion gilt and enamelled. The order's motto is separately applied and engraved on the blue enamelled inscription ring. On pin with maker's mark ‘Keibel’ as well as the city mark of St. Petersburg and the Russian double-headed eagle. The reverse of the star is gilded and hallmarked with the same marks as on the pin, as well as the silver hallmark ‘84’.
