Gold and enamel. On the short original necklace. The separately applied cipher of the front medallion on a finely guilloché translucent red enamel background.

A magnificent specimen in the finest jeweller's quality from the court jeweller Carl Büsch, Hanover. The enamel on two cross arms on the reverse has been very well restored.

Including those awarded in exile, only 140 Commander's Crosses 1st and 2nd Class were awarded in total.

Very rare.
