Silver, the applied order cross in gold and enamel, with pin. Suspension loop on reverse. Exceptionally fine worked example in brilliant-cut execution. Circa 1850.
Adriano Thaon di Revel e Sant'Andrea (Turin, 1813 – Turin, 1854) was the tenth son of Count Ignazio Isidoro. He became Minister Plenipotentiary (Ambassador) of His Majesty in Vienna and London. He was decorated with the Grand Cross of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus and married Emilia De Montegu di Basilio, with whom he had no children. Adriano was the first victim of cholera when the epidemic broke out in Turin in 1854-1855.
