The crossguard and hilt made of iron and decorated with openwork neo-Gothic tracery. On the pommel, the crowned cipher “VE” of King Vittorio Emanuele II applied in raised gold.
The blade features etchings and engravings with trophies of arms, and at the grip end a double arch with the insignia of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus on the obverse and the insignia of the Military Order of Savoy on the reverse.
Also signed at the grip end on the reverse: “Ravier Turin”.
On the polished iron scabbard, the mounts for the suspension rings are executed in openwork neo-Gothic style and bear the gilded coat of arms of the Royal House of Savoy in the center. With two carrying rings.
Particularly beautiful and exceptionally high-quality edged weapon of the first King of Italy. An especially impressive piece of museum quality in neo-Gothic style.
