“F I.” monogram on the front. Original mail chain. High embossed crest featuring a lion battling a serpent on both sides. Fine old original silk lining.
An exceptionally decorative and magnificent helmet of the finest quality, in very fine condition throughout.
Comes with a beautiful original case featuring the finest white leather lining and an owner’s label bearing the inscription:
“Cuirassier helmet of our father Gustav Baron Gemmingen (1813–1894), which he wore as an officer of the Imperial and Royal (Austrian) 2nd Cuirassier Regiment of Archduke Franz von Modena from 1831 to 1849”
With original signature of his son Gustav Gemmingen.
Owner’s label on the base: “His Excellency Baron Gustav von Gemmingen, Imperial and Royal Cavalry Captain / Bürg Castle”.
