Auction 76 December 10, 2022
The 76th auction will be held on December 10, 2022 as a regular saleroom event with personal attendance in our business premises in Kirchheim unter Teck. The sale starts at 2.30 p.m. (CET).
Preview: Friday December 9 from 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday December 10 from 10 am - 1.30 pm.
The sale includes mainly historical collector's items of all countries and periods up to the year 1918.
We have already uploaded some lot numbers for you and will add many new lots daily until the auction. The complete catalog will consist of over 350 lots.
In addition to orders and decorations of the German states up to 1918, the auction sale also includes some lots on the history of the GDR, such as the National Order of Merit in gold awarded to Willi Stoph.
Among the highlights from the period of the German monarchy are a badge of the Prussian Order of the Black Eagle in diamonds and a Grand Cross set of the Order of the Red Eagle with crown.
We also offer numerous important International Orders, including a magnificent Collar Chain of the Russian Order of St. Andrew from 1831 (Pannasch), a highly important badge awarded to future Empress Catherine the Great in connection with the Order of St. Catherine, badges of the Order of Saint Alexander Nevski, the Order of the White Eagle and a selection of extremely rare Russian medal from the 18th century.
A very special highlight is the French Order of Saint Esprit from the end of the 16th century. In addition, we offer an important selection of rare awards, historical antiques and edged weapons from the period of the French Revolution.
Among the historic firearms ( Auction 78 January 2023 ) are an important double-barrelled flintlock rifle of the French King Louis XVI and an important pair of presentation pistols given by the then Dauphin (Louis XVI) to his page. One of teh Highlights of firearms requiring a license (auctioned by Thies & Schmid GmbH) is the extremly rare "Karabiner 98 produced by Erfurt in 1903 for Machine Gun Troops Cal. 8 x 57mm IS (Patrone mit Spitzgeschoss) Serial Number 1106 in mint condition.
In addition to the classic areas of orders and militaria, this auction also includes a select choice of exquisite jewellery and objects of vertu such as gold boxes and portrait miniatures, including important objects from the estate of Benito Mussolini.
Of particular importance to collectors of historical collectibles of the 20th century is the unique group of medals, photos and documents of the leader of the Freikorps Oberland who commanded the storming of St. Annaberge in Upper Silesia Major Ernst Horadam.
