Auction 77 - Spring 2023
The 77th auction is scheduled to be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 2 pm (central European time) as a regular saleroom auction with an audience in our premises in Kirchheim unter Teck.
The sale with ca. 400 lots includes important historical collectors items and military antiques of all countries and periods. The complete catalogue is now online and you can start placing absentee bids or register for telephone bidding (for lots with a reserve price over € 500).

In addition to fine orders and militaria of the German states and European countries up to 1918, like the magnificent 1st Class Badge of the Imperial Russian Order of Saint Catherine, we are also auctioning some interesting lots on the history of the GDR. A fine selection of helmets and uniforms will also be offered in this sale.
In addition, we offer a top-class selection of rare awards historical antiques, important headgear and edged weapons from the period of the 18th century and the French Revolution.
In addition to the classic areas of medals and militaria, this auction also includes a selected choice of exquisite objects of vertue such as gold tabatiers and portrait miniatures.
Our extensive auction of highly important historical collectors items from the Third Reich Period will offer a magnificent selection of important uniforms. The first part of an extensive collection of fine and important orders and medals includes a number of Knight's Cross and German Cross in Gold groupings. The proceeds of these items will go to a renowned charity organisation to set up university scholarships.
Particularly outstanding pieces include what is probably Adolf Hitler's only surviving field-grey tunic (Waffenrock) from the famous Lattimer Collection and a breast star of the German National Prize for Art and Science made of gold, platinum and diamonds.
In the weeks following this auction in May, we will launch our first "Timed Auction" with the possibility of automated bidding. In this auction, several hundred lots of mainly interesting collector's items with estimates below € 1000 will be offered.
In June the auction house Thies & Schmid GmbH will hold an outstanding auction of important antique firearms and military ordnance weapons of all periods, primarily WWI and WW II.
Among the historical weapons in our gun sale are an important double-barrelled flintlock rifle from the armoury of the French King Louis XVI and a magnificent pair of Presentation Pistols by Jacques - Louis Arault in Versailles, ca 1765/74, given by the Dauphin (later King Louis XVI) to his personal page. A selection of very interesting early military Imperial Austrian and Royal Prussian Rifles from the period of King Frederick the Great are also included in this sale.
One of the highlights of the firearms requiring a permit (Auktionshaus Thies & Schmid GmbH) is the extremely rare carbine 98 from the Erfurt production of 1903 for MG troops in cal. 8 x 57mm IS (cartridge with pointed bullet) serial number 1106.
Some WWI and WWII Sniper Rifles will also be included among the many highlights of this sale.
