Grouping from the Estate of Lieutenant Colonel Maximilian v. Zastrow, Commander of the Baden Field Artillery Regiment Nr. 50.


Knight's cross of the Military Karl-Friedrich order of Merit features gilded silver and enamel construction and comes complete with original ribbon. Reverse shows repair to the enamel of one of the arms of the cross. Cross comes complete with original rare case and original outer carton with maker mark.  

Cross includes the original award document, dated 5 September 1918 and features the original signature of Grand Duke Frederick II and official paper seal. Document has been folded twice. 

Also included are the following patents: 

- To 2nd Lieutenant while assigned to the 1st Guard Field Artillery Regiment and is dated 22 March 1892. Double paged document features embossed seal.

- To 1st Lieutenant in the 3rd Guard Field Artillery Regiment 18 and is dated 18 August 1900. Double paged document features embossed seal.

- To Captain and as Adjutant in the 1st Guard Field Artillery Brigade and is dated 3 September 1906. Double paged document features embossed seal and original signature of King Wilhelm II.

Certificate for the Commemorative War Medal 1914/18 from the Kyffhäuser veterans organization, dated 1 October 1922.

Very attractive and exclusive order for valor from World War I. One of the more prominent recipients was the Reich Marshal Hermann Göring.

Only 288 awards were presented in World War I.
