Die Fasces (Liktorenbündel / Rutenbündel) mit der Axtklinge, Symbol des italienischen Faschismus, aus Elfenbein geschnitzt. An beiden Enden goldene Abschlußknöpfe.
An der Axt angebrachte goldene Schneideklinge mit Gravur: "R.I. ARMANDO DIAZ". Auf der Rückseite undeutliche Herstellerpunze und Goldstempel "750".
Auf den Axtblättern beidseitig aufgelegte silberne Widmungsplaketten mit dem gekrönten Anker der italienischen Marine, eingerahmt von den Knoten des Hauses Savoyen.
Die vorderseitige Widmungsinschrift: "CON FEDE INCROLLABILE E TENACE VALORE". Auf der Rückseite: "NAPOLI A. XII . E.F. / 22 APRILE 1934".

Diese Geschenkaxt wurde dem Herzog von Genua anläßlich seiner Ernennung zum Admiral und des  Besuchs auf dem Kreuzer Armando Diaz überreicht.

Presentation Gift in the Form of a Bundle of Lictors (Fasci) Presented to Ferdinando di Savoia, 3rd Duke of Genoa.

This Fasces (Lictor bundle/bundle of rods) with an ax blade and the symbol of Italian fascism is carved from ivory. Both ends feature golden studs. The blade of the ax features a separately applied gold cutting edge with the engraving: "R. I. ARMANDO DIAZ". The reverse with unreadable maker's mark and the gold hallmark "750". 
Both sides of the head of the ax feature dedication plaques with the crowned anchor of the Italian navy with framed knots of the House of Savoy and leaves. The obverse dedication reads: "CON FEDE INCROLLABILE E TENACE VALORE" and the reverse dedication reads: "NAPOLI A. XII . E. F. / 22 APRILE 1934". Length: 36 cm.
