272 Saber for a Dragoon Officer of the Imperial Guard Pedro I.

This saber features a gilded tomback hilt with a richly adorned arabesque design.The curved double etched blade features a richly etched arabesque design with the "spoils of war" motif. The blade has been cleaned and does show minor corrosion. The gilded curved scabbard features a separately applied Brazilian Imperial coat-of-arms and an engraved arabesque design. Both carrying rings are attached to the scabbard. The scabbard shows minor age and some minor depressions. 


Length approx: 100 cm.


Beautiful early saber from the reign of Emperor Pedro I (1822-1831). A dress sword of great rarity.
