  Silver - gold plated and enameled. The chain consists of six large medallion - links with the Austrian double eagle and the coat of arms of the city of Vienna. The coat of arms links connected with chain links in the form of braided knots. The middle link with attached medallion with portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I and inscription on the reverse: "2. DEZEMBER 1908". Manufacturer's mark on the reverse: "JOHANN BAUER WIEN" as well as old Austrian official hallmark for silver (DIANAKOPF and doubled "A"). In beautiful original case with green velvet inlay. In the silk lining of the inner lid gold stamped maker's label of the company Johann Bauer, Vienna. 53 x 36 mm. Extremely splendid and decorative chain of office in excellent jeweler's quality representing the self-image of the Viennese magistrate in the era of the legendary Viennese mayor Karl Lueger (1897-1910).
