  Very nicely preserved French perc. Double barreled shotgun with damascus barrels by Rubans. Side plates and cocks as well as the raised part of the trigger guard and the tail screw show deeply cut arabesques. The browned wrap-around damascus barrels bear the signature Canons Rubans inlaid in silver between simple ornamentation. The trigger guard extends far beyond the butt neck and is tapered in the area of the forearm in a contemporary design. The stock is made of fine walnut, with the butt being particularly beautifully finished. The butt has a cheek piece that curves into a deeply sculpted, raised, cut flower. The underside of the butt is decorated with a lion's head. The neck of the butt is finely checkered on the sides. The wooden ramrod has a brass connection and is held by two guide sleeves and a beautifully designed slide. All in all, a superbly crafted double barrel shotgun in very nice overall condition.
