Foreign Militaria

289 Einfacher Hirschfänger deutsch Ende 19tes Jahrhundert bzw. um 1900

Stag horn handle. Total length of about 50 cm. Simple still beautifully preserved stag hunter made of ferrous metal. The handle section made of stag horn with frets stoked at the ends. The upper end of the handle (pommel) represents a wavy oval disc. The pommel screw, which connects the tang to the handle, is shaped like an acorn. The lower end of the handle is the parry of a mutually curved single-hoofed foot. Between the blade and the tang we find the disc of the scabbard stop with a fan-like shell-shaped thrusting blade. The somewhat stained and plastered blade showed as decoration on both sides still faintly pronounced hunting motifs. The leather scabbard has intact stitching, but the leather shows signs of wear. The place and mouth plate are made of iron and the carrying hook is formed as an acorn. Overall a still beautiful stag hunter that can be improved with love in overall condition.
