With the exception of the breech, this is a matching-numbered rifle 29 ö by Steyr - Werke for the German Luftwaffe in much worn but collectible condition due to front-line use.
The gun still has over 60% of its original finish, which is worn and somewhat stained from use.
Sidearm mount, upper ring, lower ring and butt plate are marked with the complete serial number or the last two digits and the military acceptance eagle 623.
The case is signed as follows: Left side: military proof eagle over HK , S.No. 4978 over "b". Top of case: "7,9" (calibre) over "660" (Steyr) over "1939". Right side of case: three military acceptances eagle HK above "WaA 623". The breech with identical numbers bears the serial number "2418 e" and various military acceptances of the Steyr works as well as the military proof mark at the base of the chamber stem.
The so-called milled magazine case with case cover is without acceptance and serial number, only marked with the manufacturer's abbreviations (code) "d" or "I".
The stock, which is in original condition with traces of use and pressure marks, has eagle HK and "L" (Luftwaffe) on the right side of the butt, as well as military acceptance marks eagle HK above "WaA 623".
The underside of the butt bears S.No. 4978 above "b" and another military acceptance eagle HK above "WaA 623".
One of the rarest weapon models made for the German armed forces in collectible condition.
