Silver. On the front side Italian royal coat of arms and the inscription: "AL VALORE MILITARE" as well as the hallmark "F.G.".

On the reverse engraved inscription: "GUERRA DELLA INDIPENDENZA ITALIANA" and award engraving: "GIULIO / LITTA / MODIGNANI / UFFICIALE / in / SAVOJA / Cavalleria / VALLEGIO 25. IUGLIO 1848.".

Very rare and nice medal.
