Badge. Silver and nielo. In the center plastically applied lion's head surmounted by crossed sashka and sword and red enameled Soviet star. Three fastening lugs on the back.

Various pre-October Revolution examples of this hitherto poorly researched medal are illustrated in Spassky, Russian and Foreign Medals before 1917.

With the establishment of the Soviet Union, the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR) of Dagestan came into being in 1921.

The order, originally established by Shamil, was awarded for a very short time with Soviet symbols in extremely small numbers.The award was given only for bravery.
