Imperial Russian General's Helmet from the period of Tsar Alexander II. (1855-1881).

High leather helmet with silver plated fittings. Shield bar and cross blade with oak leaf decoration. Russian double-headed eagle in front. Bulbous silvered chin scales with Russian maker's mark. Suspending from medallions with with Russian imperial crown. On the rigt cockade in the colours of the house of Romanov. Flamed general's helmet spike top resting on ball with rotating ventilation mechanism. Inside original lining of golden brown silk with finest light brown leather sweatband.

Very beautiful and in all parts original helmet. Very rare in this top quality.
