Breast star. Silver. The medallion gold and enamels, the order's motto on the translucent enameled, red legend ring separately applied in chased gold letters. In the center medallion the cipher of St. Alexander Nevsky applied in gold.

Minor hairline cracks in the white enamel. The reverse in fine gilding with maker's mark "F.H" (probably Frederik Adolf Holstenius, master in 1848) as well as silver hallmark "84" and city mark of St. Petersburg. Fitted with silver screw.

Very nice, finely crafted early breast star in best old Russian goldsmith workmanship.
