White glazed porcelain with colored painting and gilding. In the center the 1813 Iron Cross, the rim on pale pink background with surrounding laurel wreath held together by the ribbons of the Iron Cross and the 1813 - 1815 campaign medal. On top medallion with finest quality hand painted coat of arms of Count Kleist von Nollendorf. Plate rim with palmette frieze in gold painting.

In the bottom blue scepter mark of the Königlich Preußische Porzelanmanufaktur (KPM).

The history of the various Iron Cross porcelain services from the period of the Napoleonic Wars as well as the service of the Kurhessian Order of the Iron Helmet are discussed in detail in the excellent publication of the Kulturstiftung des Hauses Hessen, Museum Schloss Fasanerie, Orden auf Königlichem Porzellan ..., 2013.

Superbly preserved rare dinner plate and memento of the famous Prussian field marshal who received the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross for his services in the Battle at Leipzig, 1813.
