 France - 18th Century Military Trumpet Banner.

The banner of the finest blue moiré silk with silver embroidered coat of arms of the Kingdom of France surrounded by the collars of the Order of the Holy Spirit and the Order of St. Michael. 

The corners with crowned and mirrored ciphers "L"of King Louis XVI. The edges with stylized branches. Silver fringe hanging on all sides.

Extremely rare military trumpet banner. Fine quality embroidery. The silk with minor flaws and stains consistent with age, but overall in fine condition.

Exceptionally rare historical relic of the Ancien Régime. Only a few comparable banners and flags survived the turmoil of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. They are now mostly in museum collections.
