47 Order of St Stephen: Collar Chain for a prince.
The grand cross collar chain in 2/3 size of the regular examples made of gold and in finest jeweller's quality.
Consisting of 24 links with the crown of St. Stephen, 12 links with the cipher "MT" of the founder, Empress Maria Theresa, and 12 links with the letters "SS" (St. Stephen).
The central link with ascending lark as symbol of the Imperial House of Habsburg and bandeau with the inscription: "STRINGIT AMORE".
On the back of the central link a curved bow for hanging the grand cross badge and an additional carrying hook. Two thin carrying hooks of the same kind are also found on two of the cipher links in the middle section of the collar chain.
Length: 105 cm.
Thiscollar chain comes from an important Hungarian noble family and was specially made for one of it's members. The name will be exclusively disclosed to the buyer.
According to my knowledge the only Saint Stephen Collar Chain in reduced size known to exist.
