 The hilt fire-gilt with leaf decoration. Lion masks on the bow and the crossguard. Handle with silver wire wrapping. Damascus blade with fullers, maker's signature on the back: "Pierre Guillaume KnechtFabriquant à Solingen".

Gilt brass scabbard with appliqués of the famous scene of Bonaparte on the bridge at Arcole, trophies of arms, and rossettes.Iron drag.On two suspension rings.

Beautiful sabre of excellent quality and the typical design of the Consulate or early Empire.
