167 Presentation dagger of the National People's Army ( NVA), so-called marshal's dagger.

 Gold-plated brass finish. Plastic handle with wire winding. The pommel bears the coat of arms of the GDR.

Blank, double-edged blade with two fullers. Burnished iron scabbard with gilt fittings. On the obverse side GDR state arms and oak leaf with three rubies (simili).

In it's original presentation case made of red imitation leather with gold embossed state coat of arms of the GDR and the inscription: "FÜR DEN SCHUTZ DER ARBEITER UND BAUERN MACHT".

Inside with gold-plated dedication plaque with engraving: "presented by the Minister of National Defence of the GDR".

Attached guarantee certificate for the honorary dagger of VEB Jagd- und Schneidwaren Mühlhausen.

In addition, a gilded hanger for generals of the NVA and a pair of sample shoulderboards of a marshal of the GDR.

The NVA honour daggers exist in different designs and were intended for the rank of marshal of the GDR, which was created in 1982 but never awarded, but also for particularly deserving, high NVA generals, personalities and foreign dignitaries.
