Embossed copper shield. Depiction of the French royal coat of arms on trophies of arms from flags of the French Guard, cannons at the corners. Above bandeau with the inscription: "GARDES FRANCOISES".

The Régiment des Gardes françaises was one of the two infantry regiments of the Royal Guard (Maison militaire du roi) in France.
