11 Document Grouping of the President of the GDR's Natioanal Olympic Committee Dr. h.c. Heinz Schöbel.

Heinz Schöbel (14.10.1913-26.4.1980) was a publisher and sports official in the German Democratic Republic. He was president of the GDR's National Olympic Committee from 1955 to 1973 and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 1966 until his death. In 1960, the German University of Physical Culture awarded him an honorary doctorate. He received three times the Fatherland Order of Merit, the Star of Friendship between Nations and the Order Banner of Labor.
