357 Bronze Sculpture with Mythological Scene.

Bronze, on an elaborate bronze base. Apparently unsigned.

In the centre on a pedestal the standing figure of Ceres (goddess of agriculture and fruit-growing) surrounded by groups of figures of a centaur with a shepherd's crook and a boy facing him carrying a lamb in his arms. On the opposite side, a group of a female centaur with a harvest sickle and a boy facing her who is offering the goddess stalks of grain.

Impressive allegorical composition of agriculture and fertility in fine artistic quality.
