87 Savoy Ducal Ladies' Convent in Vienna

 Monastic order decoration. Gold and enamel, without ribbon. The Holy Virgin in sculptural goldsmith's work separately applied to the white enamelled Savoy cross. The inscription bands with hand-painted motto: "IMMA / CULATA / CONCEP / TIO". The crown in particularly fine and sculptural goldsmith's work with a carrying handle on the back.

This order was founded on 16.8. 1769 by Duchess Maria - Theresia of Savoy, born Princess of Lichtenstein, and provided with statutes by Empress Maria - Theresia on 18.8. 1769. It was a noble residential foundation for 17 daughters from the gentry of the Austrian hereditary lands (with 16 ancestors). Since 1806, respectively 1822, there were also honorary canonesses.

A particularly beautiful and very rare monastic order cross from the end of the 18th century.
