52 Veterans 24 Years of Service Badge (Ordre des Deux Epées)

 Excessively rare decoration from the period of the French Revolution with Jacobin Cap (Bonnet Phrygia).

Made in bronze with original red cloth backing. The back plate with pinned eyelet.

Badge of exceptionally great rarity. The Order of the Two Swords was created after the abolition of the Orders of HL. Louis and the Order of Military Merit, the only award of the Ancien Regime continued by the French Republic. With the "Directoire" taking over in November 1795 awards were discontinued.
