104 Order of Victory - Original Example for Everyday Wear (B - Piece).

Silver, the medallion gilded and enameled. Back riveted five times. On screw, counterplate missing. Set with simili - diamonds. Mounted à jour on the back. The red star made of cut glass stones. Comes with ribbon clasp with gray felt cover on the back.

The awarded originals of the Order of Victory with genuine diamonds are almost exclusively in museum possession. The Badge offered here is a second piece of very high quality made for daily use. I am not aware of any other comparable example.

Of course there are also copies and exhibit pieces of this highest Soviet order. However, these are of much simpler quality and design and are not at all comparable with our specimen.

The Soviet Order of Victory (Russian Орден "Победа"/ Order "Pobeda") was the highest military merit order of the USSR. The single-class order was established by the Soviet government under Joseph Stalin on November 8, 1943, and was allowed to be awarded only to the highest military officers of the Soviet Union and to foreign commanders-in-chief and heads of state for successful wartime operations that resulted in an advantage for the Soviet army and made a significant contribution to victory. Multiple awards were possible, but only three cases are known, including one to Stalin himself. Only 19 regular awards are known, made in 1944 and 1945 (the 20th award to Brezhnev in 1978 was later cancelled). 14 of these awards were to Soviet marshals, three of whom received the order twice. The remaining five holders were foreign military officers or heads of state.
