 Black - white - red bunting made of three linen strips sewn together. In the white field, embroidered in black woolen threads, the inscription "Commandant of Greater Paris". Mounted on metal rods and sewn at the sides. With metal rod for attachment to the motor vehicle.

Dietrich von Choltitz (* 9 November 1894 in Gräflich Wiese; † 5 November 1966 in Baden-Baden) was a German infantry general in the Second World War as well as city commander of Greater Paris in 1944. He was best known for his role in the liberation of Paris.

Highly interesting and extremely rare object and excellently suited for a museum exhibition.
