The estate of Karl Georg Eschweis was extensively published in an article by Manfred Dörr in IMM No. 99, January/February 2001, pp.31 -36.

He sailed on 3 submarines, namely U-64, U-124 and U-160, and participated very successfully in 10 enemy campaigns. He was involved in the sinking of 5 ships with 244,584 GRT. In a spectacular action in Norway in 1940, he succeeded in getting out of the sunken submarine "U-64" from a depth of 35 metres. He as well as the commander and later KC recipient Captain Lieutenant Wilhelm Schulz and 40 men of the crew could be rescued.

Very beautiful and highly interesting group of this brave submarine crew member.
